RCNM is the oldest & first club of Navi Mumbai incorporated on 24th Feb 1977. These forty-three years have been solely dedicated towards service of the community. From Check dams, Braille books in Hindi, Water filtration plant, running medical center & stress counseling at RCNM.
Today, RCNM is one of the few clubs in India which has its own premises under NAVI MUMBAI ROTARY CHARITABLE TRUST. Our vision and mission are Service above self & Fellowship for service.
Milestones:
(A)CAL-Computer aided labs: In association with RC Cupertino (Dist. 5170) and NGO Pratham, we have over the last 4 years, set up computer labs in 29 schools in the Navi Mumbai / Thane areas.
The 4 Successive global grants have enabled over 22,000 students from the lowest strata of society to become computer literate. On average, over 7000 students every year would benefit from this initiative with en employment to nearly 800 participants thro job fair
The same computer labs in the evenings are used to train the unemployed youth in the locality on basic computer skills. This is a 2-month program and successful candidates are also trained in Interview/language and etiquette skills. A job fair is organized for entry-level jobs. The cumulative project cost for this literacy project has been over $2 lakhs (1.5cr approx) supported by our global grant partner & district 3142 .
(B) Free Stress & Anxiety counseling at our center.
(C) Plantation of 3142 trees.
(D) Providing clean water, medical support, etc to NGO & Schools.
(E) Vocational awards to unknown faces who are engaged in improving the lives of needy.
(F) Fundraising for army welfare & mentally challenged.
(G) Providing Braille kits in HINDI to blind students.
(F) Seminar/lectures for members and others.
(G) Yoga and Fitness for kids at our center.
(H) At our center promises the trees have been adopted by Rotarian members.
(G) Rotary student exchange program . In the past three years, Rotarian has hosted two students and all Rotarian Annets has visited Brazil under the exchange program.
(H) Donation for End Thalessimia Now program (Blood bank on wheels).
(I) Recognition of outstanding members of Rotarian members(spouse and children).
(J)To cultivate and develop the passion for serving the community the club has three Rotaractor clubs in; Community based, Saraswati engg.college and Indira Institute of management studies. The club also has INTERACT club at Goldcrest high school, Vashi
